Laveta May Hampton Griffin, 95 of Braymer, Missouri passed away Wednesday October 12, 2011. Funeral services will be held Monday 11AM October 17, 2011 at the First Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri. The family will receive friends 90 minutes prior to service. Burial will be in the Braymer Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Braymer Baptist Church Youth Dept.  Laveta was born July 25, 1916 in the Low Gap Community (Carroll County) to Montie and Ethel Richardson Hampton. She was a 1935 graduate of Braymer High School. She was an active member of the Baptist Church, Women's Baptist Missionary, PEO, Eastern Star and Red Hats. She was honored to be the Grand Marshall of the Braymer Alumni in 2004.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, a son Philip Mack, grandson Scott Wayne, her brother and sister in law Dr. Lavere and Leota Hampton, and a nephew Ronnie Hampton. Survivors include her daughter Cheryl Rose and Jim Frazier, her son Jerry Wayne and Jeanette Griffin; her grand children, Dr. Jari Frazier, Jamie Frazier and husband Phillip Shoemaker, Julie and Scott McClain, Jennifer and Brad Relford, Kerri Griffin, Kasey and Rachel Griffin; her great grand children, Frazier McClain, Griffin Relford and Payton and Brady Griffin; her nephews, Michael and Mark Hampton, Joe Griffin and Bill Griffin.Arrangements under the direction of Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 N.W. 108th Street; Kansas City, MO.
