Lavern Marks Jennings, 85, of Kansas City, Mo passed away April 13, 2016. Funeral services are 10:00 am Tuesday April 19th at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 169 Hwy & Shoal Creek Parkway, with visitation 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to NorthCare Hospice House.
Lavern was a proud Army veteran of the Korean conflict, earning 3 bronze stars. He was employed by Corn Products for over 35 years. He was an artist, poet and enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs. He was a former baseball coach for his 3 sons baseball teams when they were growing up. Lavern was preceded in death by his wife, Creta Jennings, 7 siblings and his parents. Survivors include his children, Ladonna Burkitt, Latricia Laber, Lenny Jennings, Lapaula Jolliff, Monty Jennings, Gene Jennings, brother, Paul Jennings, 15 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren.
