Laureen Ellen Scrutchfield, 73 of Weatherby Lake, Missouri went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2024. “Laurie” was born on September 25, 1950, to parents John and Arletta Bullard in Kansas City, Missouri.
Laurie attended St. Augustine Catholic grade school and went on to graduate from Bishop Hogan High School in 1968. Following high school, Laurie married and had three children, Michelle (“Shelly”), John, and Rebecca (“Becky”). She was not only a devoted mother, but a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. As a strong woman of faith, Laurie cherished her relationship with God at St Therese Church.
Aside from her faith, Laurie’s true passion in life was her love of the outdoors. She was an avid runner and cyclist, even qualifying to run the Boston Marathon. She loved that her hobby of running and biking led her to many adventures over the years.
Laurie was an amazing grandmother nicknamed “Lolo” by her two granddaughters.
Laurie is survived by her son, John Scrutchfield of Kansas City, daughter, Rebecca Grego (Tim) and granddaughters, Alexis and Alayna, of Weatherby Lake, sisters Kathleen Bullard, of Ozark, MO and Carleen Mulloy of Hallsville. Laurie is preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Scrutchfield and parents.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated February 10, 2024, 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, North. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
