Laura Lyn (Dye) Craig entered the Kingdom of Heaven on February 3rd, 2012. Laura was born November 9th, 1956 the oldest child to Robert Dye and Janice Dye VanWinkle in Anderson, IN. She graduated from Highland High School in Anderson before moving to Smithville in 1975. Laura and Steve Craig united in marriage in Smithville, MO on September 10th, 1977. They were blessed with two children, Cara Leigh and Cameron Lee. Laura was a member of the Disciples of Christ faith, a talented floral designer and known and remembered for entertaining family and friends by singing and dancing.She is preceded in death by her cherished fathers, Robert Dye and Ronnie VanWinkle ; her grandparents and her beloved father- in- law Wilbur Craig. Laura was adored by her large family and is survived by her husband of 34 years Steven D. Craig, mother, Janice K. Van Winkle; daughter and son-in-law Tom and Cara (Craig) Massie; son and daughter-in-law, Cameron and Kesha ( Sandage) Craig; grandchildren, Craig Jackson, Carter James and McKinley Lyn Massie and Alaina Marie Craig; two brothers Brad Dye and Dean Van Winkle; sister Beth Cook; 14 nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews.Laura passed away after a brave 5 year battle with ovarian cancer. Please join the family for visitation on Tuesday February 7th, 5-8 pm and in a Celebration of her life Wednesday February 8th, at 11am at Smithville First Christian Church. Contributions may be made to the Spelman Medical Foundation Whisper Walk for ovarian cancer and to Smithville First Christian Church.
