Larry Stewart

Larry Edward Stewart, 82, passed away on August 29, 2021.

Born and raised in Northwest Missouri, to John Edward Stewart and Elsie Mae Abbott. Larry was the oldest of six brothers. He is survived by Harold Dean and Richard. He is preceded in death by Donnie, Jimmy, and Michael.

After graduating from Clearmont High School in 1957, Larry moved to Kansas City, MO and started a career in automotive supply sales. After 10 successful years in sales, Larry started an auto parts business with friend and business partner, Johnny Borden, in Gladstone, MO. The partners provided auto parts and machine shop services for 23 years. In 1990, they sold to O'Reilly Automotive. Larry worked for O'Reilly Automotive for 14 years before retiring in 2004. Over the years. Larry built life-long relationships with many of his customers. His retirement dream was to live at the Lake of the Ozarks enjoying family, friends, and the peacefulness of the lake.

He preceded in death by his son, Thad and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Stewart; children, Tina May of Kansas City and Todd (Kim) Stewart of Columbia, MO; four grandchildren, Matthew, Joesph, Zach and Lia; and two great grandchildren, Grayson and Emerson.

Services for Larry will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home on Friday, September 3rd, with the visitation at 10:00am, funeral service at 11:30am, and graveside services immediately following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
