Larry Bastel

Larry F. Bastel, Platte City MO, age 75 passed away January 20, 2013 at home. Larry was born on  June 28, 1937 in Kansas City KS.  He attended Washington High School prior to entering the United States Army.  He retired after 40 years of service from the Union Pacific Railroad.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Morris Bastel, father, Julius Bastel, step mother, Betty Bastel and sister, Sandra Boyer.  He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Beverly, his three sons, John, James, and Stephen, his stepsons, Donnie  and Shirley Uhlmer, Steve Uhlmer and grandson, Mark;  brother, Bob and Donna Bastel; sisters, Bonnie Mc Clure-Amos, Joan Bastel, Jenny and Dave Steffee. Visitation will be Thursday January 24 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home.  Memorial services will follow at 2:00pm.  The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Three Rivers Hospice,  700 Branch St, Suite 4, Platte City MO 64079.Arrangements under the direction of Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 N.W. 108th Street; Kansas City, Missouri (816) 734-5500
