It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we share the loss of our Mother, Lais Holmes, who lost her fight with cancer on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. No words can truly capture her affectionate and loving spirit, positivity, strength and passion for life.
She was an amazing Greek woman that spoke 5 languages, taught ballet and classical piano, was a translator, registered nurse, Art Gallery Docent, and election worker volunteer. As a life-long proponent of education, learning and personal development; she could charm, comfort and encourage even the most troubled child. She also received the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce 2019 Excellence in Education Award (Volunteers in Support of Education) and the North Kansas City School District 2019 Culture of Excellence Volunteer of the Year.
As a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, she taught us to accept and appreciate all cultures, religions, and ethnicities and her compassion and listening ear were but a few of her greatest qualities and attributes. We are truly thankful for all that she shared and instilled in ALL of us.
Lais is preceded in death by her Husband Charles, Father George and Mother Irene. Survivors include; Daughter, Irene Byers (Ken) and Son, Charles Holmes (Antoaneta).
