Geneva "Neva" L. Howard, 82, Lake Waukomis, MO, passed away December 15, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 19th at Christ Lutheran Church, 6700 NW 72nd, Platte Woods, where a visitation will be from 1-2 PM. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Church or the Boy Scouts of America.Neva was born November 30, 1928 in Cole Camp, MO to Walter C. and Hulda T. (Ehlers) Weymuth. She was baptized at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp on December 16, 1928. She attended school in Cole Camp Public Schools where she was active in sports, school plays, band, Girl Scouts, serving as a Girl Scout leader. In her youth she entered exhibits at the Missouri State Fair and received many ribbons. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in April 18, 1943. From 1947-48 she attended Drury University, Springfield, MO. On October 16, 1949 she married her high school sweetheart Murl C. Howard. They had 2 wonderful sons who kept Mom and Dad active in scouting, baseball and church. Neva worked as an assistant buyer for the Children's Department of Harzfelds Department Store, Kansas City for 5 years. After her sons were in school she was employed for 31 years as Attendance Secretary for the Park Hill School District. In all jobs she had the pleasure of working with many wonderful men and women. Neva was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and Wednesday Religion Classes for 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walter Vern Deen Weymuth.Survivors include her husband, Murl; 2 sons, James Howard and wife, Peggy, and Mark Howard and wife, Cindy; 5 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.
