Kurt A. Skinner, a devoted and cherished family man, passed away on March 21, 2025, at the young age of 51. He was born on December 08, 1973 to Gary and LaNeal Skinner. He grew up in Kansas City, MO and worked for Homeland Security as a Custom and Border Protection Officer. He and the love of his life, Juanita, were together for over 30 years.
Kurt was not only a dedicated professional but also a loving husband, son, father, and grandfather. His warmth and kindness radiated in every aspect of his life, leaving an indelible mark not only on his family but on all who had the privilege to know him. He faced his battle with early onset Alzheimer's disease with a strength and bravery that inspired those around him.
Beyond his professional realm, Kurt had a zest for life that was evident in the way he embraced his hobbies and interests. He loved traveling to beautiful places, often reminiscing about his adventures in Hawaii, Yellowstone, Sequoias, and many other scenic destinations. His passion for the outdoors could be seen in the joyful rides on his bicycle, leisurely walks, and spirited runs that filled his days with vigor and vitality.
Kurt had a unique talent for making the best chocolate chip cookies, a sweet treat that brought joy not just to friends and family, but also to the beloved pets who were fortunate to share his home. Among them, his favorite cat, Smokey, was never far from his side, receiving endless affection from Kurt's loving hands. His love for mowing the yard was another testament to his nature; it was not just a chore to him, but a passion that allowed him to connect with the earth, creating a peaceful environment for his family to enjoy.
Kurt leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will be treasured forever. He has left us too soon, but his spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved him dearly. As family and friends gather to remember him, they will undoubtedly share stories and laughter, celebrating the vibrant life he lived and the profound impact he made on their lives. Kurt A. Skinner will be missed beyond measure, but he will always be remembered with fondness and love.
He was preceded in death by his father: Gary Skinner; as well as his brother: Chris Skinner.
Kurt is survived by his mother: LaNeal Skinner; wife: Juanita Skinner; and their children: Sam, Victoria, Veronica, Alberto, and Graciela; many grandchildren, and one great grandson; as well as many other family and friends.
