Krista Louise Caldwell, 67, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away October 2024.
Krista was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Paul and Ruby Peterson. During her youth, her family relocated to Minnesota, where she spent her formative years. She graduated early from Parkwood High School in Joplin Missouri after getting accepted as a performer in the traveling singing group Up With People. From there she attended Texas Christian University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1979. In her early career she followed her passion for fashion and glamor into the world of retail. She loved working with customers helping them feel beautiful in designs they chose together.
Krista's Christian faith was her cornerstone. Her love for the Lord was undeniable. She married Collin Caldwell in 1998, and together, they built a life and an insurance business. Their union was one where they loved and served Jesus. Krista made meaningful relationships and shared the good news of the Gospel as a lay leader in the Bridges Women’s Prison Ministry. She found great purpose in supporting and loving the women she met in this Ministry and was a devoted member of her church community. In the past decade, Krista transitioned her professional experience into the funeral industry, bringing compassion and understanding to families in their times of need.
Krista treasured time with her family and the companionship of her cherished golden retriever, Sofia.
Krista is preceded in death by her father, Paul Peterson and husband, Collin Caldwell. She will be dearly missed by her mother, Ruby Peterson; sister, Rebecca (Tim) Meurer; brother Doug; nieces Sarah and Grace and many extended family and friends.
A memorial Celebration of Life will be held November 23rd at 3 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home and a private grave side service will take place on November 25th at 1 PM at Higginsville Veteran’s Cemetery.
