Kenneth Eli Reinier, 96 of Kansas City, MO died April 4, 2016 at the Newmark Care Center. He was born in Farson, Iowa on November 6, 1919 to the late Noah and Lola (Black) Reinier.
Ken proudly served in the Army-Airforce from 1942-1946, he married Frances E. Harrison on May 17, 1947 in St. Joseph, MO. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone in May 1982 after 36 years of service and perfect attendance. He was an active member of the Park Hill Disciples of Christ Church having served in many roles. He was a 54 year member of the Parkville Rotary Club having perfect attendance and being honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He belonged to the Zeredetha Masonic Lodge and a Shriner at the Moila Shrine both in St. Joseph, MO. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball and softball where he helped many children learn the sport and sportsmanship; he also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and woodworking.
Ken is survived by his wife of 69 years, Frances, son Tom, daughter-in-law Pat, daughter Lisa, grandson; Jacob, brothers Stanley, Leslie, Wayne and Sisters Rosemary and Edith. Also surviving are many nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Funeral service will be Saturday at Park Hill Christian Church 6601 NW 72nd St. at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment with military honors will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
