Kenneth "Ken" Sweeney

Kenneth James Sweeney, 98, of Gladstone, Missouri passed away September 30, 2013. His funeral service will be 2 pm, Friday, October 4th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Chapel with visitation one hour prior, burial will follow services.Ken was born August 14, 1915 in Kansas City, Missouri to Harry E. and Etta Mae (Gaiser) Sweeney. Ken married Doris J. Moore on May 31, 1956 in Kansas City and to this union three children were born. Ken worked as a electrician for TWA for 40 years until retiring in 1980. He was also a past President of the TWA Employee's club. He was a Mason and loved all sports- especially the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. He really enjoyed playing golf and even got a Hole-In-One, and bowling. In his later years, he enjoyed visiting residents at surrounding nursing homes and playing them one of his favorite bands, The Gaither's. Ken is preceded in death by his parents; son, Steve Sweeney; brother, Herbert Sweeney; sister, Cathryn Cresson and nephew, Donnie Lehman. He is survived by wife, Doris Sweeney; daughter, Suzanne Comninellis and spouse, Chris; daughter, Beverly Frame; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
