Katherine A. Farmer, 89 of Kansas City, died at Golden Living in Independence, MO on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. She was born in Tuscumbia, Missouri on November 8, 1925 to the late Charles Elvin Abbett and Bernice Richardson Abbett.
She enjoyed her life as a homemaker, cooking, fishing and spending time with family and friends. During WWII, Katherine worked in the factories while her husband was off to war.
She was the loving mother of Sharon (Lonnie) Caldwell and Carla (David) Scott. Dear grandmother of Shane Caldwell, Sheri (Mike) Jones, David Michael (Megan) Scott; great grandmother of Sarah Jones, Anna Jones, Kipton, Scott and Kaden Scott.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 2 PM until time of service at 3 PM with Chaplain Melissa Bowers officiating, at Terrace Park Funeral Home’s Lakeside Chapel, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite 300 Kansas City, MO 64114.
