Kanan F. (Frank) Courter

Kanan F (Frank) Courter, 80, of Kansas City, Mo passed away May 13, 2011 while traveling in Kanab, Utah. Funeral services are 10:00 am Saturday May 21st at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with visitation 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at the chapel. Graveside services are 3:00 pm Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery, Cainsville, Mo. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wild Horse Foundation.Frank was born August 2, 1930 in Kansas City, Mo to Merle and Dollie Courter. He was in the accounting and tax preparation business for over 50 years and owner of Courter Accounting, Inc. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was known for his good humor, love of travel and square dancing. In 1950, he was united in marriage to Jean Hart, and they became the parents of three children, Betty Barnett (Dennis), Christena Weaver (Les), and David Courter (Kristy). He was preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his wife of 60 years, and children, he leaves to mourn his passing eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five brothers, Joe, Sam, Leo, Jerry, Patrick, two sisters, Rosemary Andersen and Helen Sims.
