Judith Faye Holsted, 81, of Parkville, Missouri passed away on November 25, 2021.
Judy was born on July 19, 1940, to Bill and Creta Owens in Platte County, near Waldron, Missouri and grew up in that area. She attended Park Hill High School where she graduated in 1958. While still in high school she met Loyd Holsted, Sr. They were married on August 29, 1958 and lived in the Waldron/Parkville area all their lives. Loyd, Sr. and Judy were blessed with 3 children, Loyd Allen, Jr., Alicia, and Jeffrey.
A devout Christian, she belonged to First Pentecostal Church in Parkville in her younger years and was a member of Northland Cathedral Church for over 40 years. She was always active in church affairs, including several years of teaching Sunday school. Judy also operated an in-home daycare for many years.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Creta, her husband, Loyd, Sr., and her sister, Patricia Maenhoudt. She is survived by her sister, Billie Sue Hill. Judy is also survived by her children, Loyd Allen (Zara) Holsted, Jr, Alicia (Larry) Harris, and Jeffrey (Shellie) Holsted. Her grandchildren are Loyd Allen (Chele)Holsted III, Allison Brewster, Duncan Holsted, Charles (Sue)Harris, Eric Harris, Crystal (Nathan) Goodell, Carissa (Hyuntae) Kim, Lauren (Tyler) Harris, Brittani Holsted, Zachrey (Catie)Holsted and Victoria Holsted. Judy’s great-grandchildren are Eric, Loyd Allen IV (A.J.), Zoey, Sophie, Adelaide, Connor, Lexie, Madison and Everligh. Also surviving are Judy’s numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Northland Cathedral on Monday, November 29th from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 30th at 10 am at the church, followed by burial in the Platte City Cemetery.
