Juanita "Nita" Bogue, 91, of North Kansas City passed away on July 26, 2024.
Nita was born on December 11, 1932, in Marion County, Illinois, to Walter and Edna Wernsman. She was one of 15 children, growing up in a large and loving family.
Nita married the love of her life, Leland Bogue, and together they were blessed with 3 children. Leland was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and because of his service the family was stationed in various places within the U.S. like, Wichita, Kansas and Fairbanks, Alaska. A dedicated homemaker, Nita poured her time and energy into raising her children and supporting them in their activities.
As her children grew older, Nita took on various jobs, including selling Avon, working as a cashier, and serving in the shoe department at Sears. Her work was always a testament to her strong work ethic and dedication.
In her spare time, Nita was a talented knitter and quilter, and later in life enjoyed working puzzles. For her final years, Mom lived at The Gardens at Northgate Village, where she was loved by many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland; and many brothers and sisters.
Nita will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her 3 children, Kate Bogue, of Estes Park, CO, Karen (Gary) Brewer of Pleasant Valley, MO, and Jeff (Kim) of Liberty, MO; 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild, siblings, and extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Monday, July 29th, with visitation beginning at 1:00pm, funeral service at 2:00pm, followed by the graveside service.
