Juanita M. Hollingsworth, 90, of Silex, MO; formerly of Kansas City, MO passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016. She was born in Kansas City, MO on May 29, 1926 to the late George and Opal (Welch) Fisher.
Juanita loved her family and friends deeply, and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved people, especially children. As a dedicated member of Gracemor Christian Church and a woman of strong Christian faith, she enjoyed going to church and reading her Bible. Juanita loved doing things for other people, donating goods or contributing monetarily, when she heard of someone in need. The Tom Butterfield Great Circle Campus was especially dear to her and her late husband Ronald’s hearts. She was also a volunteer for patient care at Mercy Lincoln Hospital in Troy, MO. Her favorite pastimes also included watching NASCAR, Sunday drives, traveling, especially to Branson to see music shows, listening to gospel and “old-time” country music; square dancing, chatting with relatives and friends on the phone and eating out. She retired from Wausau Insurance Companies.
She is survived by her children; Yvonne (Russ) Walton, R.D. (Janet) Hollingsworth Jr.; step-son Rodney (Mary) Hollingsworth; grandchildren David, Kathy, Ginger, Holli, Denny, Jennifer and Emmilee; great-grandchildren, William, Shiloh, Heidi, Stefanie, Amber Marie, Delaney, Lucas, Gwen, Evan, Amelia and Julianna.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Hollingsworth her daughter Diana Spaniol and brother George Lee Fisher.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 10-11 AM. Funeral will be at 11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Great Circle Advancement Office 330 North Gore St. Louis, MO 63119.
