JUANITA MAXINE BARKER
Juanita (Goodson) Barker, 86, of Smithville, MO passed away Dec. 20, 2015. She was born Aug. 12, 1929 in Sedalia, MO to Jesse and Anna (Simmons) Goodson. Juanita graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia in 1947 and married Maurice Barker Aug. 6, 1949. Over the years, she held jobs with AT&T, Clay County Sheriff’s Department, MAWD and Pack’s True Value Hardware. She retired from Missouri Highway Patrol as a Driver’s License Examiner in 1994. Juanita enjoyed working in her flower garden; creating flower arrangements for weddings and her church; square dancing with her husband; her church where she was very active and helped with the nursery and traveling with family and friends.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Maurice of 44 years, brothers; Walter Goodson, Calvin Goodson and Howard Goodson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Cynthia R. Searcy (Kenny), Edward L. Barker (Kathy), Alan M. Barker (Marina), Roger D. Barker (Danielle), grandchildren; Grant Barker (Natasha), Kelly Admire (Nick), Garrett Barker, Anna Searcy, Jack Barker, Holly Barker, great-grandchildren; Avery Barker, Daphne Barker, Audrey Admire, Hattie Admire and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sun., Dec. 27, 2015 from 2-4 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) KCMO. Funeral services will be Mon., Dec. 28, 2015 at 1 PM at the chapel.
