Joseph Lee Heilig, 81, of Gladstone, MO passed away on November 18, 2020. Joe was born on December 22, 1938 in Kansas City, Mo to Harold and Corinne Heilig.
Joseph attended Northeast High School and Maple Woods Community College. Joe served in the United States Air Force in the 305th Maintenance Squadron for 4 years. There, he earned multiple certifications for aircraft mechanics.He worked as an aircraft mechanic for TWA for 34 years. After retiring from TWA, he was a taxi cab driver. He also worked security for different companies. Joseph was a member of the Masons, the NRA, Shriners, Widows Sons .A proud achievement in his life was becoming an Eagle scout. Joseph enjoyed working on cars and being able to add his own personal style to his vehicles. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting guns, and traveling with his wife. He will be remembered for his crazy antics and earned the nickname Crazy Joe while working for TWA.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents Harold Heilig and Corinne; wife, Martha “Marty” Heilig of 34 years; daughter Jolene O'Dell, and brother Curt Heilig
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his grandchildren; Meghan (Donny) Correll, Christopher (Maddison) Heilig and great grandchildren Chevelle, Beau, Paeton, Weston, Averie, Raelynn and Logan.
A visitation will be held held at Terrace Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 2nd from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. A private family graveside will be held at a later date at Terrace Park Cemetery.
