JONATHAN “JONJON” NICHOLAS SCHEELK
Jonathan Nicholas Scheelk’s was born on March 17th, 2016 (St. Patrick’s Day) at 7:47 in the morning. Jonathan’s diagnosis was determined pre-birth and also during the first few weeks of life. Diagnosis’ that included Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), hydrocephalus, Coffin-Siris Syndrome, and among other birth defects that would require multiple surgeries. Although he was only here for 5 short months, Jonathan overcame many challenges that proved how strong of a fighter he was. The fight included six surgeries, three of which were brain surgeries and one open heart surgery. The days leading up to Jonathan’s passing were spent laughing, holding, hugging, kissing, and loving him. Jonathan received his angel wings on August 20th, 2016. The moment of his passing was beautiful, while there were many tears shed there was also a feeling of relief knowing our baby boy would no longer be in pain and discomfort. Jonathan’s strength was and will continue to be an inspiration for many people. We are proud for the amount of lives he has touched and the amount of people he has changed during his 5 months of life. Jonathan will greatly be missed but never forgotten and we plan to keep his legacy alive by giving back to those who were so involved in his journey.
Those left to carry on Jonathan’s memory include his dad and mom, Steven and Heather; big brother, Brody; nana and papa, Mike and Christy; uncles, Michael and Christopher (Samantha); grandfather, Doug; grandmother, Carmen; uncles, Julian and Brooks and aunt, Mallory.
