Johnnie Lucille Hamilton, 77 of Kansas City, passed into the arms of Jesus after a courageous and faithful fight against an extended illness Saturday, December 27, 2014. She was born September 2, 1937 in New Boston, Texas to Samuel Henry Thompson and Effie Durrell Burnett Thompson.
She is survived by her husband Ernest, son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Lauri Hamilton, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Dean Hay, brother and sister-in-law Newt and Zona Thompson, grandchildren Whitney(Bennet) Krueger, Joshua Hamilton, Lindsay, Olivia and Elijah Hay and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Johnnie was an active member of Northgate Baptist Church and P.E.O. Chapter IJ.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank with deep appreciation those who have tirelessly supported Johnnie and the family the past few years.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 9:30 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Northgate Baptist Church 800 NE Vivion Road Kansas City, MO 64118. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. Friends who wish are encouraged to make memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to Northgate Baptist Church (www.Northgatebaptist.org), P.E.O. or Cancer Action of Kansas City (www.CancerActionKC.org).
