John McFadden Sr.

John Neal McFadden Sr., 79, passed away peacefully April 30th with his loving wife Betty and family by his side.

John was born on August 24, 1939 to Frank and Della McFadden. John was the second youngest of 17 children. He was a loving devoted husband and father, who in his younger years was a youth baseball coach and bus driver for the Youth for Christ group at Gashland Baptist Church. He loved to cook, even entering and winning the church baking contest 3 years in a row. In his spare time, John enjoyed playing Santa Claus for family and friends gatherings.

John worked as a salesman for Excelsior Heating Cooling Supply for 36 years, then went on to work for Manheim Auto Auction and KC Driveaway Roadrunner  Services as a driver for the last 12 years.

John is preceded in death by his parents Frank Sr. & Edith Della McFadden; one great granddaughter, Lily Star; six brothers, Frank Jr., Roy McFadden, Raymond McFadden, Abner McFadden, Thomas Arnold Good and Richard McFadden; ten sisters, Anna Borges, Donna Baker, Irene Duncan, Vivian Monning, Alice Pinegar, Ellen Green, Valda Folsom, Charlotte McFadden, Lottie Ora Good and Alberta Hall.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty; three children, Joe (Lucy Corral) McFadden of Ft. Davis Texas, Debbie (Rick) McAlister of Kansas City MO, John Jr. McFadden of Kansas City MO; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandson;  and a multitude of other family & friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 3rd from 5-8 pm, with a funeral service Saturday, May 4th at 10am, both at Gashland Baptist Church (601 NE Barry Rd KCMO 64155). Interment immediately following at Terrace Park Cemetery.
