John Michael King, the beloved owner of Kings Frame and Body Alignment since 1978, first in North Kansas City then in Smithville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 15, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was known for his humorous nature, he was kind hearted, full of compassion, and was always willing to lend an ear to those around him. Born on May 5th, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri, John grew up in the city and attended Westport High School. After completing his education, he went on to work a few odd jobs, get married and start his family. He became a body shop apprentice at Greenlease Cadillac in the 60s, which turned into a lifelong career. He eventually went out on his own, establishing himself as a successful businessman, and developed a reputation in the community for his unmatched expertise and repairing automotive body and frames with the help of some very talented employees. John had many interests which included traveling, camping, snow skiing, fishing, float trips, and endless hours with his sons, passing on his life experiences and knowledge. He is survived by his wife of close to 60 years: Sandra King. He also leaves behind his two sons: John (Suzanne) King, Tony (Shannon) King; five grandchildren: Jason, Jordan, Haley, Jessica, and Lacey; two great grandchildren: Olivia and Jackson; as well as his brother: David (Carolyn) King. John is preceded in death by two brothers: Frank James King Jr., and Paul King. Those who knew John will remember him not only for his sense of humor, but also for the impact he had on their lives. His passing leaves behind a void that cannot be filled. However, he will always be remembered by those who loved him.
