John Thomas Hamilton, 89, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away March 21, 2014. He was born September 14, 1924 to Theodore and Blanche Hamilton in Mexia, Texas. John graduated from Kansas University with a degree in Architecture Engineering and worked with Collins Construction for 33 years. He was a member of the Platte Woods United Methodist Church, South Platte Kiwanis and the Y.M.C.A. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Mae and husband, Charles Ropp, and daughter-in-law, Heather Hamilton. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Hamilton; sons, Bruce Hamilton and wife, Mary Anne; Christopher Hamilton; and Darrin Hamilton and wife, Michelle; six grandsons, Paul, Kevin, Elliot, Johnathan, Justin and Joshua and many nieces, nephews and friends. His funeral service will be 11am, Thursday, March 27th, 2014 at Platte Woods United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow the service at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. John will be deeply loved and missed by all who knew him.
