John Grill Jr.

John Grill Jr., 95, of Kansas City, MO passed away on August 3, 2020. John was born on September 30, 1924 in Akron, OH to John Sr. and Ellen (Monaghan) Grill. He served 2 ½ years in the United States Army during World War II until he was honorably discharged after being wounded in battle. After returning to Ohio, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Fazah, on December 30, 1950 and from this marriage they had five children. John began working at ESB an automotive battery distributor doing various jobs before being transferred to Kansas City in 1963 as plant manager.  After the business closed, he went to work for the U.S. postal service, which he retired from. John and Evelyn loved dancing and listening to music, and John would spend hours using his reel to reel tape deck to record all kinds of music. He also loved to play golf.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Richard Grill and Dan Grill and his sister Ilene Ciriano.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children; Monica Eaton, Denise Kisner, Dawn Anthony (Larry), Greg Grill (Louisa) and Kimberly Adams (Tim), 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren his brother Jerry Grill and his sister Ellen Miletti.

Services will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Monday, August 10th, with visitation beginning at 10:00am, funeral at 11:00am, and burial following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
