John Fredrick Fuhrman, II, 70, of Weatherby Lake, MO passed away on February 10, 2013. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 6pm at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, 7600 NW Barry Road KCMO 64153. A visitation will precede the funeral service from 4-6 pm. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church.John was born September 4, 1942 in Sioux City, IA. He attended college in Iowa and Nebraska studying RF communications and engineering. He married his high school sweetheart Karen Warner in 1965 and recently celebrated his 48th anniversary. John obtained his HAM Radio license, K0LFA, in 1956. He was the driving force behind installing the first 2 meter repeaters in Olathe, KS and Platte County, MO. He was one of the original owners of Maxon Electronics and DuraComm Corporation and retired in 2010.He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ardella Fuhrman. He is survived by his beloved wife Karen and three children: John III (KD0JQJ), Brad (KC0AFN), and Laura. He has six wonderful grandchildren: Amanda, Steven, Elizabeth, Kyle, Byron, and Janine.
