Joe Kern

JOE MORRIS KERN, 80, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully March 22, 2013 at his home. Joe was born February 26, 1933 in Mason City, Illinois to Arthur and Opal (Deerwester) Kern. Joe was a 1st Class Sargent with the Army Guard for eight years. He owned Moore's Welding Supply in St. Joseph and worked for several welding supplies companies.He married Vanita Siemer in 1955 and together they had three children. Sons, Dan Kern and Mike and wife, Anita Kern; daughter, Kelley Bryan and husband, Jim; grandson, Jason Kern.He is survived by his wife Emma (Hart) Kern whom he married on October 15, 1994 in St. Joseph, MO.He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and Robert Kern; and sisters, Almeta Rey and Dixie Keene.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joe Kern Memorial Fund, 505 NE 101st Street, KCMO 64155. A special thank you to the St. Luke's Hospice, Samantha and Winnie for their great care that they gave. Joe's visitation will be 4 to 7pm, Tuesday, March 26th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Chapel with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7pm.
