JOAN SHIRLEY REMBOLDT-RYAN
Joan Remboldt-Ryan passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at The Gardens at Barry Road Assisted Living Center. Joan was born February 13, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Abraham Lincoln and Jemima (Christopherson) Jacobson.

Joan was married to Roger Bruce Remboldt, in Minneapolis, Minnesota and moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she raised her two children Jacob “Jack” and Cynthia. Joan spent most of her time teaching children with special needs. She also worked for the Missouri Parole Commission as an office administrator. After retirement, she decided to relax and work as a clown entertaining children and adults alike. She also loved to spend her winters with family and friends in Tucson, Arizona. When she was not relaxing, she was fostering animals, from birds, cats, dogs, all the way up to a Raccoon.  She also loved to take her grandchildren shopping.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by, two husbands; Roger Remboldt and Eugene Ryan. Also preceding her were two sisters and a brother.

She is survived by her children Jacob “Jack” (Jackie) Remboldt IV, Cynthia J. Remboldt, grandchildren; Jacob Remboldt V, Caleb (Amanda) Remboldt, Gabrielle Remboldt, Emma Remboldt, and one great grandson Wyatt Oliver Remboldt, and many family and friends.

The family would like to extend their many thanks to Ascend Hospice and to The Gardens at Barry Road Assisted Living Center.


Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 from 1-2 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Funeral Service will be immediately following at 2 PM. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to American Diabetes Association, Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
