. Jim was born July 25, 1919 in Shreveport, La. He received his Master's Degree in engineering at the University of Texas. He worked at White Sands Missile Range as a civil engineer for a test facility, the forerunner of the U.S. Space Rocket Program. He married Mary Martha Alexander in 1947, she preceded him in death. Jim also worked for Western Electric, General Dynamics, and Collins until he started his own company in Kearney, Mo in 1973. As founder of Vertex Plastics, he designed a unique fiberglass portable building for electronic equipment, which has been used worldwide by the government and private companies in aircraft landing systems, microwave communication and sea navigation. Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Mary Linn McClure and Bob Thrutchley. Condolences may be sent to mountmoriahterracepark.com.
