Jill Sikkema

Jill Yvonne Sikkema, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully Friday, October 13, 2017 after a short and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 57. The daughter of Alfred Jay and Janice Alice (Wacek) Sikkema, she was born April 18, 1960 in Grand Rapids, MI.
Jill was a graduate of Park Hill High School. She went on to further her education, receiving her Associate’s Degree in 1981 from UMKC and her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1992 from Park College. Jill worked for DeLaval, holding a variety of positions from 1981 to present day. She was a longtime member of Parkville Presbyterian Church. Jill loved to travel, and also spent her free time volunteering on church mission projects such as community dinners, welcome packets for international students at Park University, and Hillcrest Transitional Housing.
Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Janice.
Jill leaves behind her sister, Julia (Sikkema) Choate and husband Ron; niece, Laura (Choate) Devereaux and husband Michael; nephew, Andrew Choate; uncles and aunts, as well as many wonderful friends and family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11 AM at Parkville Presbyterian Church, 819 Main Street, Parkville, MO 64152. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hillcrest Platte County Transitional Housing at hillcrestplatte.org.
