Jewell Barton Hultz, age 91 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on March 21, 2014. He was the only son of Frank Barton Hultz and Fannie Mae(Lungren) Hultz. Jewell was born and spent his early years in the farming community of Stet, Missouri, graduating from Stet High School. He then went to college at the University of Missouri at Columbia but left as he enlisted in the Army Air Corp where he served in World War II as a waist gunner on the B-17. After returning from the war, Jewell lived in Kansas City, Missouri and worked in sales for Rudy Patrick Seed Company and at J.I. Case Tractor Company. He spent the remainder of his career driving for Chief Freight Lines. After he retired from Chief, Jewell worked for Garment Care Inc. in North Kansas City, Missouri. When not working, Jewell loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always teasing and joking - as can be attested to by many. Luckily he had as much fun receiving as dishing it out. There was no such thing as a stranger to Jewell. He worked extremely hard, was always there to lend a hand, and was generous to everyone. Jewell was married to Anita Mae(Humfeld) Duesenberg for 41 years until she passed on May 21,1993. He later married Dorothy (Case)Darnell. Jewell was preceded in death by his wife Anita, son Jim Duesenberg and his sisters Helen Tweedie, Bernice Dailey, Dorothy Dorner and Frances Kenward. He is survived by current wife Dorothy, his daughter Tamara Rimer (Keith) and his son Stephen Hultz (Theresa). There are also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that he leaves behind. His visitation wil be Tuesday, March 25th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be Wednesday, March 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home Chapel, 801 NW 108th Street, KCMO 64155 (Hwy 169 and Shoal Creek Parkway) Luncheon to follow the service at The Coves Clubhouse -Directions will be provided.In lieu of flowers the family requests donation sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
