Jewel Rose Claunch Haggard

Jewel Rose Claunch Haggard, 91, of Liberty, MO (formerly of Lake Waukomis, MO) died on July 13, 2012. She was born on August 3, 1920 to Alva & Marie Wolf Claunch in Kansas City, KS. She graduated from East High School in Kansas City, MO in 1937. She married John Haggard, Jr. on December 2, 1939 at Centropolis Baptist Church. In 1951 she co-founded Haggard Heavy Hauling (now Haggard Hauling & Rigging, Inc.) and retired in 1975. She was a long-time member of the Lake of Waukomis Women's Club. She was a faithful member of Park Hill Baptist Church where she served as a children's Sunday School teacher. She was currently a member of Chandler Baptist Church, Liberty, Mo. She was a long-time member of the Santa Fe Trail Ramblers (Holiday Ramblers) RV club, and traveled to all 48 continental United States. She enthusiastically served on the Reunion Committee for the East High School class of 1937.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Hon (Jerry), son, John H. Haggard, her five grandchildren, Rev. Jeffrey Hon (Dr. Sarah Hon), Jill Hon Saunders (Greg Lattig), Heather Haggard King (Tim), Lance Haggard (Andrea), and Andrea Haggard, her four great grandchildren, Michael & Rachel Hon and Austin & Leah  Haggard, , her sister, Mary Betty Claunch Kimble, and three nephews.Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday July 17th at Chandler Baptist Church, 11401 Highway 33, Liberty, MO, with visitation preceding services 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Private graveside services will be held at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to Chandler Baptist Church, Liberty, MO. or New Song Church, A Disciples of Christ Faith Community, P.O.
