Jerry Tenpenny

Jerry L. Tenpenny, formerly of Ferrelview, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 22,
2021 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron, Missouri. He was 88 years old.
Jerry was born in Perry, Kansas on October 1, 1932 and grew up in Oskaloosa, Kansas.
Jerry was a Korean War Veteran and served in the United States Army from 1953 - 1955.
He married Beverly Jean Foote in August 1978. He retired from the General Motors
Corporation (Fairfax Plant) after 31 years of service. After retirement, Jerry enjoyed
many trips to Yellowstone National Park. He especially loved viewing wildlife with
family and friends. Jerry was very proud of his granddaughters. He never missed a
game, a birthday or a special event.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Gladys Tenpenny and his wife,
Beverly. He leaves behind his son, Michael Foote (Rhonda), granddaughters, Allison
(James) Brondell and Renee Foote, and great-granddaughters Julia and Josephine. The
family would like to thank the nurses, caregivers and employees at the Missouri
Veteran’s Home in Cameron for the care and companionship they gave Jerry, especially
this past year.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Missouri Veteran’s
Home in Cameron in Jerry’s name.
