Jennie Marie Watts, 89, of Kansas City, Mo passed away March 30 after a brief illness. Jennie was born to Roy and Annie Laurie Moore on March 24, 1924, in Gower, MO. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She was preceded in death by still-born brother Roy Moore, Jr., sister Clara Bandelier, her parents, and husband Harold D. Watts. She is survived by her son Michael, daughter-in-law Suzanne Lease, three nieces, one nephew, and a rich network of generous, loving friends. Jennie graduated from Northwest Missouri State College and spent her working years as a bookkeeper for automobile dealerships. She was a favorite mother in the neighborhood for tolerating adolescent mediocre behavior, and remained a hopeful Royals fan while enduring numerous hopeless seasons. She also made some of the best chocolate chip cookies and cake in the Midwest. Jennie enjoyed the fellowship and activities at Gashland Presbyterian Church for many years. A memorial service will be held on April 13 at 1pm at Gashland Presbyterian Church, 8029 N. Oak. Memorial contributions are suggested to Gashland Presbyterian Church.
