Jeffrey Dewitt Goede, son of the late Gerald & Phyllis (Kaufman) Goede, was born on June 18, 1956 in Kansas City, MO and departed this life on October 21, 2018 in North Kansas City, MO. At the time of his passing he was 62 years of age.
He was raised and attended Center High School in Kansas City, MO where he graduated from in 1974. He then attended Missouri Western University where he majored in History with a minor in Military Science. After graduation he received an Active Duty Commission from ROTC. He then joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country for six years achieving the rank of Captain. On July 9, 1983 he was united in marriage to Marcia Huber and to this union two children were born, both whom survive him. Together they raised their family in Kansas City. While in Kansas City, Jeffrey joined the Kansas City Police department where he proudly served for 19 years until his retirement. During his free time he enjoyed watching the history channel, documentaries and learning new information. He was a devoted father and very proud of his two sons who followed in his footsteps joining the United States Army. Jeffrey had a quick wit and an amazing sense of humor who enjoyed having a good time, making everyone laugh & have a good time. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Gerald Goede; and his mother, Phyllis (Robert) Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Goede; two sons, Jared Goede and Jacob Goede; his step-mother, Glenna Goede; one sister, Jeri (John) Stewart; one brother, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Goede; his three sisters-in-law, Janet Naretta, Lyla (Earnest) Williams and Gail (Paul) Harris; and his two step-sisters, Wendie (Kent) Kirby and Joy (Ken) Rimmer. He also leaves behind several friends and family who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Parish in Plattsburg, MO with Father Bill Fox officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 with a Public Reflections to take place from 6:00-7:30. Interment will take place in Leavenworth National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 12:30.
