Jeanne JoAnn Meadows passed away peacefully on July 5, 2017, in Modesto, CA; at the age of 87. She was born September 1, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, to Joseph Nichols Compton and Marguerite (Murray) Compton.
She was a homemaker and resident of the Kansas City area most of her life. She also lived in Nixa, MO for 20 years, when she and her husband, Raymond Meadows, retired. After Ray’s death in 2000, Jeanne returned to KC, settling in Gladstone. Jeanne is survived by her children, Steven Meadows of Gladstone and Laurie (Meadows) Jackson of Modesto, CA, and her grandson, Reid Jackson. She was preceded in death by brothers Joseph Leslie Compton and James David Essig, and her sister, Sylvia (Essig) Short. She is also survived by one sister, Barbara (Essig) Ragle, as well as nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
A short service will be held on Friday, July 14th at 2pm at Terrace Park, with visitation starting at 1pm. Terrace Park is located at 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, MO. Share condolences online at TerraceParkFuneral.com
