Don Deckard, 80, of Parkville, MO passed away on March 11, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on March 24, 1934 in Niangua, MO to Lester and Gusta (O’Dell) Deckard. He was a veteran of the Army serving during the Korean War. Following this venture, he began a career with TWA and was an Avionics Instructor for over 35 years. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather; a man among men who was loved by all.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vance Davis. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Carole; daughter, Donna Westfall (Geoff); son, Randy Deckard (Tara); brother, Gene Deckard (Anita); sister-in-law, Ernestine Davis; grandchildren, Alexander Deckard, Sarah Westfall, Graham Deckard, Shelby Westfall, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-4 PM Saturday, March 14, 2015 with services to follow at 4 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Luke’s Hospice.
