Janie Ruth Decker, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, passed away on April 19th, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on July 25th, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri to Audrey J. Campbell. Janie touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Richard Decker, her loving children, Jennifer Mitchell and Christopher Decker, and her 5 cherished grandchildren, Victoria Sestrich, Lauren Mitchell, and Cody Sestrich( preceded her death) Carson Decker and Avriana Decker. Janie is survived by her loving siblings Rick Davis, Lawney Davis, and Lisa Haught. She is reunited with her brothers Robert Davis, and James Campbell and sister Susan Campbell who passed away before her. Janie's warmth and generosity extended beyond her immediate family, embracing nieces, nephews, cousins and countless others who were fortunate to know her. Her home was always open, and her heart was always welcoming. In addition to her nurturing spirit, Janie had a passion for cooking, delighting friends and family with her delicious meals. Her love for literature was equally profound, often devouring books in mere hours, a testament to her voracious appetite for knowledge and storytelling. But most of all was her love for her family, she would always say “if you don’t have family you don’t have anything”. Although she will be deeply missed, Janie's legacy of love, kindness, and hospitality will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace, knowing she was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
