Janet VanWinkle

Janet Sue VanWinkle, 73, passed away on July 20, 2019. Janet was born on November 20, 1945 to Walter and Alice Whiting in St. Joseph, MO. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Central Missouri State University. After the birth of her son she became a stay-at-home mom and donated her time to supporting her family and education. She had a vibrant personality and loved to dance, listen to music and go horseback riding, but spending time with her family and attending her grandkids' events was most important to her. Janet will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her son, Ryan (Maria) VanWinkle; grandson and granddaughter, Jake VanWinkle and Jenna VanWinkle; her love of nearly 30 years, Jim Aughinbaugh; Jim's sons Les Aughinbaugh (Maple) and their children Koty and Kali and Matt Aughinbaugh; her brothers Randy (Judy) and Kevin (Vicky) Whiting; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 2pm, with visitation one hour prior and burial following. Contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
