Janet May Smith, 68, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, August 13,2016.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18th from 5-7 pm at Terrace Park Funeral Home.
Janet was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 1,1948, to Douglas and Betsy Waterman. She graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1966.
Janet was married to Ronald Gene Smith on December 21 1975; they were married 40 years.
Janet worked as a bookkeeper for many car dealerships in Kansas City throughout her career. She loved all animals, especially horses, being outside, watching her westerns, her favorite being John Wayne, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her spouse Ronald Smith, daughters, Audra Kanda, Malinda Gorombey, sons, William Phillips, Johnathan Smith, daughter-in-law, Josephine Smith, sisters, Francene Eubanks, Reesa (Chris) Flaig, Kathy (Darrell) Duren, brother, Jamie Ferguson, brother-in-law, Dennis Smith, sister-in-law Susan Smith, grand-daughters, Sarah Liu, Jazmin Smith, Jayla Smith, Kylie Gorombey, Annabelle Gorombey, grand-sons, Joseph Gorombey, Noah Gorombey, Nelson Kanda, and many nieces and nephews.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Waterman and Betsy Ferguson.
