James Earl Lafferty, 62, of Smithville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017. Jim was born July 23, 1955 to William and Elaine (Fritz) Lafferty, in East St Louis, Illinois. He married Alaina Knierim on April 9, 1983. Jim owned a tire repair and retread shop. In his free time he raised horses and mules, which he showed. He loved spending time doing trail rides with the family, hunting and golfing. His favorite past time was going to auctions and finding the hidden treasures.
He was preceded in death by both parents, and his father-in-law Ralph.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, three daughters; Amber Holcomb of Smithville, MO, Amanda Lafferty of Springfield, MO, and Tami Wolfson of Belleville, IL, also surviving are 3 ½ grandchildren ;Leah, Kenli, and Landon, Sisters; Sue Trombley, Laura McKinney, and brother Bill Lafferty, niece and nephew Dana and Ryan Price and nephew Kyle Knierim.
Visitation will be Monday, October 9, 2017 from 12:00 PM with Funeral Services immediately following at 1:00 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO.
