James Howard Jones, 70, of Gladstone, MO passed away on November 14, 2019. James was born on August 1, 1949 in Port Arthur, TX to R.C. and Eddie Jones. While in school he acquired the endearing nickname, Jingles, because of all they change he carried in his pockets. Shortly before his 18th birthday, James enlisted in the United States Navy where he served for 4 years as a Nuclear Trained Electronics Technician during the Vietnam war. For a short period of time he worked as a radio DJ and went by the name of Rockin Jim, playing all the top hits from the 80’s. He began his career working for AT&T as an IT specialist and was in charge of more than 600 units until he retired after 27 years in 2010. James was active in the Masonic Lodge for a number of years and was a proud member of Sherwood Bible Baptist, where he was involved with the AWANA Children’s Club. On February 14, 2019 he married his longtime friend and high school sweetheart, Vicki. James loved nothing more than his family, but a close second was spending time playing on the computer and enjoyed a nice cold can of Coke.
James is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Jones. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Vicki; son, James Jr. and his children, Leigha, Zane, and Jayden; stepdaughter, Bonnie and her children, Weston and Benjamin; brother, Mike; two cousins and nephews, and many friends.
