James E. Hasler, of Trimble, Missouri passed away on March 28, 2020. Jim was born in Champagne, Illinois to Scott Sr. and Helen (Culbertson) Hasler. He married Janet (Simonds) on February 3, 1967 and from this marriage had two daughters. He furthered his education receiving Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Computer Science from the University of Maryland; later receiving his Master’s in Clinical Psychology from National Lewis University. Jim worked overseas during the Vietnam War, with the United States Marine Corp in the Philippines. He went to work with the United States Army in Korea for joint exercises as well as in West Germany. He also held jobs with civilian companies providing computer services before partnering with his wife, Janet, to own and operate DRD Management. Jim was involved with numerous boards and committees. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, a pilot, volunteer Deputy Sherriff for Barton County, Kansas, Poet Laureate for Clinton County, Missouri and provided funding for many youth organizations and activities. Jim was preceded in death by his mother and siblings, Scott Hasler, Jr. and Martha (Hasler) Farmer. He will be greatly missed by his father, Scott Hasler, Sr.; wife, Janet; daughters, Nancy (Hasler) Jaeger and husband Michael, Susan (Hasler) Ward and husband Patrick; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many friends and colleagues. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 2-4pm at Terrace Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
