James W. “Jay” Borchers, 85 of Dodge City, Kansas; formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, died on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Trinity Manor in Dodge City. He was born June 6, 1931 in Concordia, Missouri to the late William H. and Izola B. (Dillon) Borchers.
Jay was an accomplished world traveler, crisscrossing the United States as well as trips abroad. He loved his chosen career as a tool & die maker; ever learning and sharing his knowledge with others. His later years were spent traveling with Betty and his dog Buddy. He was a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge #31 and Moose Lodge # 3951.
He leaves behind his wife Elizabeth “Betty” Flowers-Borchers, daughter Linda (Larry) Taylor; son David (Wendy) Borchers; brothers Clyde Borchers and Larry Pointer, and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cherished family and friends.
In addition to his parents James is preceded in death by his wives; Catherine Borchers and Emma Jean Borchers; his step-son William Bartlow and other extended family.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, 2016 beginning at 1 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM at the funeral home. Interment at Terrace Park Cemetery.
