James Bargfrede

James Walter Bargfrede, 70, of Kansas City, passed away in an automobile accident on Saturday, March 16, 2019. He was born March 18, 1948, in Lafayette County, Missouri to Elaine (Brackman) and the late Walter Bargfrede.

James was musically inclined. He played the guitar and the piano and was active in his church choir. He was a Financial Advisor for nearly 40 years working for both Farmland Industries and Thrivent Financial. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. His favorite thing to do was to be a grandpa.

He is survived by his Mother, Elaine Bargfrede, his wife of 50 years, Pamela; children Dyan (Abel) Mojica, Ryan (Liz) Bargfrede, Jennifer (Neil) Thowe, grandchildren: Nathan, Henry, Conrad, Thomas, Daniel, Taylor, Jake, Ella, Owen and Faith. Siblings Richard (Mecca) Bargfrede, Rev. Patricia (Rev. Timothy) Baglien, Susan (Steve) Schreiman, Steven Bargfrede and Stuart Bargfrede.  He is also survived by his beloved dog, Izzie.

In addition to his father, James is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Natalie Thowe.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 10 AM until 12 PM at King of Kings Lutheran Church, followed by the funeral service that will begin at 12:30 PM. The church is located at 1701 NE 96th street, Kansas City, MO. Interment will be Saturday, at 3:15 PM at the St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in the Flora Community; near Alma, MO.  Memorial contributions are suggested to King of Kings Lutheran Church.
