Jack R. Nevins, 83, of Holt, MO, died at Liberty Hospital on December 2, 2016. He was born in Brookfield, MO on January 11, 1933 to the late Raymond and Lorraine (Muck) Nevins.
Jack was a very active and hardworking man doing most home repairs, landscaping and building things himself. He proudly served in the U.S. Air force as a mechanic; and was honorably discharged as a Master Sargent; he later became a master mechanic working on big trucks for most of his career. He enjoyed wood working and building several gifts for family, some that have been passed on and used for his grandchildren. He and Sherril were avid R.V. Enthusiast and enjoyed traveling the country.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sherril A. (Foltz) Nevins; children, Anthony Nevins, Lorraine Pierce, Teresa (Jon) Davis, Mary (John) Blanton and Jack L. (Christine) Nevins; Grandchildren Jennifer (Daniel) Roberts, Jon (Kate) Nevins, Katelyn (Kyle) Bates, Tyler Pierce, Lydia Davis, Claire Davis, Wesley Blanton, Nathaniel Blanton, Ashton Nevins, Gage Nevins and Sullivan Nevins; great-grand son, Henry Nevins, cousins Mary Lawler and Greg (Pam) Bauer.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11 AM at The Church of the Annunciation 701 N. Jefferson St. Kearney, MO. Interment with military honors will be at 2 PM on Friday in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
