Ida Zumault

Ida Belle Zumault ended her life journey on October 11 at the age of 97.  She was born May 16, 1914 to John and Millie (Cartner) Carey in Speed, Mo.  Ida was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Ray McClary; two brothers, Raymond and George Carey; husband, Raymond Zumault; and grandson, Tim Maddox.  She is survived by four sons:  Al (Donna), Dale (Pat), Larry, Corky (Debbie) all from Kansas City; twelve grandchildren:  David (DeeDee), Doug (Paula), Dan (Dianne), Duke (Michelle), Curt (Maury), Robin (Jim), Michael, Stephanie (Tim), Staci (John), Shelby (Ross) and Todd (Gina); nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  Ida lived in the Kansas City area since the 1940's, living in Northeast Kansas City until the 70's when she moved to Gladstone, Mo.  She worked in the grocery business for a big part of her life, first at Lynn's Market in Northeast Kansas City and Bob's IGA in the Northland.  She was active in the Garland Chapter #287 of Eastern Star.  She and Raymond traveled all over the world.  She was blessed with many friends and always had a smile and a good word for all.Services are scheduled for October 21 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park, 108th and Hwy 169 with the family receiving friends at 2:00 pm, Memorial Service at 3:00 pm and burial following the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to City Union Mission or Shrine Burn Unit for Children in St. Louis.
