Ida Cowan

Ida Jane Cowan, 88, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away, Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Liberty Health and Wellness Center in Liberty, Missouri. Jane was born September 19, 1928 to Frank E. and Elsie M. (Hill) Liggett, in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up in Hume, MO., and eventually moved to Kansas City where she graduated from Central High in 1946. She married Richard Cowan on August 8, 1975. After retiring from Sears Credit Union, she enjoyed traveling with Dick. Jane had a love for museums and crafting. During her travels she also enjoyed her time fishing, and meeting other people. During some of her travels she became a member of the Red Hat Society. Jane especially loved time with family, and never missed an opportunity to send someone a card, whenever the occasion arose.

Jane was preceded in death by both parents, a sister, Margaret Snodgrass, and a brother, Frank Liggett.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, sons; Thomas Woodroof, of Kansas City, MO, and Frank (Kathy) Woodroof, also of Kansas City, MO., four grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with Funeral Services immediately following at 12:00 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in White Chapel Cemetery, in Gladstone, MO. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions go to Ascend Hospice, 783 NE AndersonSt., Lee's Summit,  MO  64064.
