Hubert W. “Bill” Baugher, 95, of Kansas City, died on Thursday, October 18, 2018. He was born March 17, 1923 in Harris, Missouri to the late John and Esther (Cook) Baugher.
He attended high at school at Harris, Missouri, attended aeronautical school in Kansas City, and worked for Consolidated in San Diego until he received his draft notice. He joined the U.S. Navy was station in the South Pacific during WWII and was discharged in 1946. He married Frances Phillips May 26, 1946; they moved to Kansas City in 1948 where he worked for the Ford Motor Company until getting hired at Trans World Airlines in 1951 and remained there until his retirement in 1984. He loved bowling; in 1968 he won an award for the Singles high Score in Kansas City Tournaments. He had a wood working shop and made grandfather clocks, tea carts, curio cabinets, stools etc. He enjoyed his family and his church. After his bout with Lymphoma he was no longer able to usher. The time spent with his daughter, grandson and two great-grandchildren was so precious to him. Bill and Frances enjoyed traveling and made good use of their TWA Passes.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Frances Baugher, daughter Rhonda (Earl) King, grandson Michael (Janet) Holloway, great-grandchildren Lauren and Allie and Sister Nola Ralls, and nephews Garry Baugher and Gayle Baugher and nieces Nancy Justice and Barbara Mason.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brother Olen and Sister June Baugher.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 2 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Visitation will begin at 1 PM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
