Harold D. McDowell, 94, of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday June 17, 2016. He was born on July 18th, 1921 in SE St. Joseph to William McDowell and Viola (Walrod) McDowell. Harold married the love of his life Helen Ragsdale in Troy, KS on April 4th 1942. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was one of the hardest working men you could find and rarely ever missed a day of work, only missing 3 days of work in 45 years. Harold truly enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing with his family and friends.
Harold was preceded in death his parents William McDowell and Viola (Walrod) McDowell, and his two children Darrel Lee McDowell and Judy Rae Miller.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Helen McDowell, Granddaughters Rochelle Ecton and Lori Foster, Grandsons Kevin Ford and Rodney McDowell, daughter- in -law Linda McDowell, along with 13 great and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, June 20th, 2016 from 6-8pm at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Funeral service will be Tuesday June 21st, 2016 at 11am, with burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Honor Flight at P.O.
